NL Champs - St. Lous Cardnials
Wow, what a series this was! The NY Mets weresuppose to blow the Cardinals away. Thanks to a great performance from their pitching staff St. Louis will be playing Detroit starting Saturday for the World Series Title.
Carlos Beltran just got caught looking to end the game by a rookie pitcher. This after he has owned the Cadinals in the playoffs with 7 lifetime HR in 14 games againts them.
Look for a great series. I look for the Tiger to win in 5 games to win the title for the first time since 1984.

College Baseball - WOW
Not so recently, until now. NORTH CAROLINA and OREGON STATE battled, and I mean battled like the old days, last night. With OREGON STATE scoring the winning run in there last at bat, in the bottom of the eighth and facing one the nations top pitchers. They manufactured, now thats a word you don't hear often anymore, the winning run and took home the BEAVERS fist baseball championship.
These kids battled and battled right down to the end, like the sport is meant to be played. No arguing, no fighting, nothing but competitive spirit and sportsmanship to the highest. I was thinking about stopping watching the CWS but these kids have saved the game for me. At least until next year.

"A Generation Crisis"
Posted with Permission from:
Rev. Pat Hackworth, In Christ Service Ministries
Did you know:
Teens are the largest percent of our population.
In WW2 65% of Americans were bible believing Christians.
By the time this generation teens are adults only 4% of them are expected to be bible believing Christians.
8,000 teens a day get STDs.
This is the first generation ever that kids are more influenced by outside influences than in the home. Outside influences: Internet, television, video games, gangs, and cults.
Most kids spend an average of 35-55 hours a week watching television.
Video games teach kids how to plan and execute murders and many kids are in jail as a result.
1 out of every 11 have attempted suicide.
1 out of 10 fifteen year olds and younger have gone through a divorce in their family.
40% have experimented with self injury. (cutters)
1 of 10 females in high school have reported being raped at some point in their lives.
91% say there is no absolute truth.
75% of teens in USA believe the central message in the bible is, "God helps those who help themselves."
53% believe Jesus committed sin.
40% of born again teens believe Jesus committed sin.
This generation spends three hours a day online and is the first to grow up with point and click pornography. Almost 90% of teens have viewed pornography online at one of the 300,000 adult websites, most while doing homework.
More than 25 percent of teen-targeted radio segments contain sexual content; 42 percent of top selling CD's contain sexual content.
With more than $128 billion dollars in their pockets, this generation of teens have been targeted by corporate America, who does everything it can to grow brands and profits without any regard to the moral decay of a generation. Advertisers know that if they gain a customer by the age of 13 most are usually customers for life. (Cigarettes, video games, alcohol, etc.)
Most people commit to become a Christian by the time they reach their 20's. (or not at all).
250,000 babies are born out of wedlock to teens and it is a chief cause of poverty.
Most all churches pour their money into adult programs because they foresee the adults as the tithers. However, churches that do offer excellent youth programs draw adults because the adults "bring" the kids.
Churches that think, "outside the box" (outside the church doors) are more successful at reaching kids today. Small churches with limited income can co-sponsor youth programs.

Scriptures for Father's day:
Ephesians 6:4: Bible Quotes about Fathers

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Quote for today
Clarence Budington Kelland: Happy Father's Day Quotes
He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

The word "husband" comes from the Latin word that means "house band". The husband is what binds the family together.
